OpenAPI 3.1 specification · MCP connection guide

Try a request

curl 'https://sam-cv.elide.dev/api/v1/search?q=Kotlin&topic=jvm&limit=5'

Open this example. Every endpoint is safe to try against the live service: there are no write operations or account data. A separate sandbox is unnecessary for these public reads.

Endpoints

Search and pagination

q matches every supplied word across record text and tags, with a maximum of 500 characters. topic is a topic ID or all. kind accepts all, experience, software, contribution, talk, profile, or reference. limit is 1–50 (default 20); offset is a nonnegative integer (default 0). Follow nextOffset until it is null. Responses include the total, applied filters, and records with source and citation URLs.

Errors

Invalid parameters return HTTP 400; unknown API routes return 404; unsupported methods return 405. Errors use application/problem+json with type, status, title, detail, and a documentation URL. The OpenAPI specification includes typed success and error schemas. Hosting failures may occur before the application handles a request.

Versioning and deprecation

The current contract is /api/v1/. New records and additive fields may appear within v1. Breaking contract changes require a new major version path. Any planned v1 retirement will be announced here at least 90 days in advance, with Deprecation and Sunset headers on affected routes. No retirement is scheduled. The original /api/search remains a compatibility alias; /records.json and /topics.json remain downloadable exports.

Usage guidance

The application currently imposes no per-client quota and does not publish a guaranteed request allowance. Cache results, avoid concurrent bulk requests, and back off on hosting errors. No paid tier or sales approval is needed.
